Gee, I wonder. The confidence and swagger that the Angels play with against every other MLB team disappears against Boston. It's amazing. They showed signs of snapping out of it during the regular season, but this is a scared team that has lost its mojo.

I guess you could argue that Boston has a team better built for the postseason than the Angels, but I think it has more to do with a team and manager pissing down their legs. Never fear, Angels fans, for your magic number to clinch the AL West in 2009 is already down to 20 games.

I thought the Angels were the favorite to win it this year, but Boston's talent and focus on the big picture sure seems to have them ahead and in a good spot to win the series.

That is why I hate the playoffs... The season is the playoffs... Take the two best teams in each league and play best of 9.

At least they are better than the NHL which let's everyone except the team living under the doormat

That is not the case anymore... The NHL is just like the NBA now... A lot more teams.

But... Actually, they should just let the two best teams in or (sit down for this) let everybody in!

Really... Baseball is similar to hockey... No matter who you put in, even the lowest team has a great chance of upsetting a top tier team... Same with soccer. American football and especially basketball... Where great talent is tantamount to sure winning, not so much chance with the lower teams... You won't getting an exciting playoff.

Nothing wrong with a "season" and then a "tournament"... In baseball, some teams are built better for 162 games... Not 5. Big difference!

I prefer the top two though.
