Cubs

Wow. I just tuned in and first pitch I see Manny sh-- hammers it over the center field fence!

You could hear a pin drop in Wrigley.

i love it, all this garbage talk from cubs fans the whole year "this is the year" blah blah blah.

enjoy another 100 years of not winning....losers...

I'm loving this. However, it was pretty uncomfortable when they yanked Zambrano (mercifully) and Dick Stockton talked about "listen to the standing ovation for Zambrano!" when it was obvious that he was being lustily booed. Though how could you not at tis point. They have been listless. Where is the Pinella explosion? I'm wating for him to find a reason to get tossed just to get something going.

Even LA's outs are hit hard. Piniella's pitching Wood in a 9-1 game? The natives are restless right now. I think they jinxed themselves by having the nearby bar owners have an agreement to stop serving after the 7th inning of any "clinch" games. Looks like it ain't gonna be a problem fellas. Serve away to drown the sorrows.

Saw the last two innings live waking up this morning... it looked like a funeral... i pity those fans (well the ones who were there 5 years ago at least! not the usual bandwagon jumpers!).
Red hot Dodgers can now be considered the NL favorites (i'm sure the Phillies staff is yet checking calendars to see how they can start Hamels twice in the NL series...)

Pity is a good way to look at them at first, but if you really think about it how long can pity last? It's not like they are Canadians and can't help being stupid.

The one thing about the Cubs fans is that they are not typically bandwagon jumpers. They actually enjoy being losers. I think they were only booing because they are going to get swept and won't have the chance to cry about losing game 5 to the Dodgers or Game 7 to the Phillies in some sort of horrible way.

Meanwhile, the Cards are reenergizing their roster and the Cubs reign as NL Central winners is already over. When you boil it down, the mindset of the Cubs and their fans is the absolute worst part of human nature.

I really don't understand this sentiment. Unless you are a fan of a rival team of the Cubs (Cards, Brewers), how could you not want them to get one? We're all fans of a team that hasn't won it yet, either.... no empathy?

Agreed here, you have to feel for the Cubs; especially since both the White Sox and Red Sox got theirs.

However, I did pick the Dodgers to win the NL pennant and I honestly would LOVE to see Torre and Manny celebrate a WS championship in Fenway, so that's really what I'm rooting for at this point.

What do Yankee fans always say, "Red Sox fans only care about the Yankees"? Me thinks this is a two way street.

I could be mistaken, but I think KD is a Mets fan and hates both the Yanks and Sawx- like the rest of the United States.

I say that Red Sox fan care about the Yankees too much. I don't think they ONLY care about the Yankees. Boston is a great baseball city with passionate fans. It's just unfortunate that they're all a-holes.

Just teasing.

As for your comment crayonz...who cares about the NL Central? The two teams that did come out of that weak division to make the playoffs couldn't beat the Rockford Peaches right now.

How about his HR in game one. The ball was about an inch off the ground when he hit it. What an amazing swing.

Red Sox vs. Dodgers?
