Score is 0-0, top of the 5th inning, 1 out, Twins have a runner on 3rd.

Ken Griffey Jr. catches a fly ball in semi-shallow CF, fires home, and one-hops a strike to the catcher who slaps the tag on the runner at the plate. End of the inning.

Score is 0-0, bottom of the 7th inning, 0 out, nobody on.

Jim Thome hits a 460-foot moonshot to dead center, a no-brainer HR. White Sox pen locks down the win, 1-0.

Good to see a natural gold glover and a classic power hitter still doing what they do best. While their best days may be behind them, they have always seemed like good teammates, and two guys I've always rooted for.

While I would have prefered the Twins to advance, I agree those two guys have always been easy to root for.

Ozzie Guilen soundbytes and press conferences are enough for me to root for the White Sox

Agreed...He can be a punk, but anybody who speaks their mind without fear of recourse is a joy in this cautious, predictable soundbyte world.

I can't see them getting by the Rays though.

It was a good first game between the White Sox and Rays. Sox had there chances, especially there in the 7th inning.
