Newark, DE.... You wouldn't happen to be a Phillies fan, would you? wink.gif I think they've got a great bullpen, Hamels is the real deal, and Howard kills the ball every time he makes contact, but don't have the starting pitching depth that the Cubs have to win a long series. I like the team a lot, though, and they're probably my second favorite NL team behind the Cubs. I have ZERO confidence in the White Sox, they're ready to collapse at any second. As for the Angels, I don't think they'll get past the Sawx- too much playoff confidence and history against the Angels. They're evenly matched, IMO, so I'll give the nod (reluctantly) to the Sawx based on intangible bullcrap.

Now, w/r/t Milwaukee, I just don't see it. CC is all they have, their bullpen is a total disaster, and though they may be pumped about making the playoffs, I really think they're gonna lay an egg. Again, I really have confidence in the Cubs' starting pitching and not a ton in the Dodgers- I just don't think they can hang, and the offenses of both clubs can go toe to toe. IF the Angels can get by the Sawx, I agree with you that they'll beat the Rays and quite possibly win it all. I'm just not confident they can win that first series.

We are on the same page, I just think the Cubs are more experienced and will be more energized in the WS than the Rays. Again, I know that's intangible bullcrap that I would normally ridicule, but things are different in the playoffs, I really do believe that.

Because i was a Red Sox fan before 2004 and so know a little what it is to be a Cubs fan... Those guys need a break.
And an AL pennant will be nice for us anyway.

Oh, complete homer pick! wink.gif I have trouble seeing the Phils get by the Cubs (if it goes there), but I think there is a chance. I doubt Zambrano's health, and I think the Cubbies might succumb to the pressure of the WS drought and having the best record in the NL. But we shall see...I probably wouldn't lay money on it.

I do think though that if they do face the Cubs and win in an upset, they will have a sht ton of momentum going for them.

See, this is why I don't bet. doh.gif

Even though as I type this, the Rays are three outs away from disposing of the White Sox in 4 games.
