Linky to the write-up on the Brewers' website.

I'm really happy for this team. They're a small-market team, and they had to win 6 of their last 7 to get in after firing their manager, but they're in. And don't be surprised if it's Cubs-Brewers for the pennant.

Why are they there? CC. He's got to get some NL Cy Young consideration. 11-2. 1.65 ERA. 7 complete games. All this since early July, when he was traded from my beloved Indians. Unbelievable. They also blew a four-game lead in the wild card just a couple of weeks ago.

But they're in. And Wisconsin is happy tonight, even though the Badgers and the Packers both lost this weekend.

They play in Philly on Wednesday. Playoff games at Miller Park Saturday and Sunday, if necessary.

CC was just awesome. Three straight starts on short rest!!! And I love that the Brewers sent him out there. They picked him up to get to the playoffs, they're not worried about his arm down the road. I think it was a ballsy trade, they gave up a solid young David Wright-type prospect, but they got it done.

Same thing with firing their manager while tied for the wild card with 12 games left. Ballsy, but a move they felt they had to make.

I like when ballsy moves pay off.
