Wagner has thrown his last pitch as a Met

That might be a career for Wagner. He'll be almost 40 coming off of major elbow surgery when all is said and done. If he's done, he's had a hell of a career, and he's one of the few true fire ballers out there.

Then again, this is the MLB we're talking about, so chances are he'll get a 8-10 million per season deal.

I didn't realize Francisco Rodriguez was a free agent. I've love to see them land him. They'll need to make a big signing to amp up the excitement for Citi Field and apparently that signing won't be at 1B like I presumed back in May!

I saw Jon Heyman wrote a piece on SI.com today re: Mets and K-Rod. It makes sense for them, but another issue they have is the holes they are going to have in their rotation. Admittedly, I know little about the Mets farm system, but according to Heyman, they don't have any MLB ready players there. So, it looks like they might have to put a lot of $$ into the rotation by getting Burnett or someone as well as attempting to shore up the bullpen. KRod is going to demand a pretty big contract, even bigger if he breaks Thigpen's save record- and I can't count the amount of times I've heard mentioned that that was Thigpen's last effective year. So, it would be a risk for a lot of money, but if KRod stays as good as he is, I think it would be money well spent for the Mets.

K-Rod is still pretty young too, so I think it's the right place to start for the Mets since it's a glaring weakness w/o Wags. Agreed that they will need to address the starting pitching as well, but they do have a good core with Santana, Pelfrey and Maine. Sadly, Perez will be a free agent and is as good as gone and Pedro is done and will likely retire.

KRod has said he'd like to remain with the Angels but the team has balked at giving him a Mariano Rivera-esque contract thus far. Apparently a couple months ago they thought they had an extension done, but it fell apart at the last minute.

The Angels will definitely make another big push to re-sign him at the end of the season. I don't think Arte Moreno is going to let both Teixeira and KRod walk away in the same offseason.
