simply put..... no
give it up
Bishop Hedd
That is exactly what I would say to that idiot Selig and baseball...give it up. When 1 league clearly dominates for a decade its time to end this ridiculous experiment!

Not that I have the time to do it (working of course), but if someone can look at the other sports, i am sure you can find similar cases of dominance by one league over the other........ it's not just baseball that is impacted.... the fans enjoy it so why not? no harm no foul

No harm no foul? If this game wasn't held at Yankee stadium with all the pomp and hype in its' final year nobody would care. That's how far the "All Star" game has fallen thanks to IL play.

Oh get over it, people enjoy the game and they do all the pomp everywhere...... it hasn't "fallen" as much as you would think

Wasn't the NL something like 23-3 in the All Star Game during the mid 60ies-80ies period?

yes they were.

Everything runs in cycles. I think the original poster fails to realize this.

Oh man, totally. I was there, and when the game was over, everyone in the stadium was like, man, another AL trouncing! What a boring game! It was so easy to defeat the weaker NL! For the record, I don't like IL play either, but you can't possibly think this is an example of why you don't like it.

I'm curious...what are the arguments against IL play? I didn't realize people were against it. This ain't a dig, I just didn't realize people felt strongly enough about it to want to put a stop to it.

And GREAT game last night and as far as over-the-top, drawn out pre-game festivities go, I thought the Hall of Fame tribute was pretty cool.

Understandable. The first page on the baseball forum usually dates back to threads started by BF and gantrules. If it's not in the top 3 I usually miss it.
