Vote on who you think is the top offensive player for week 1.

As much as I'd love to vote for Tomlinson, Westbrook was a beast! He's got my vote.
The Jokeman
I voted Tomlinson over Westbrook as yards without TDs are an empty stat. I didn't vote for Manning however because his overall numbers aside from TDs were average at best.

Manning threw for 3 of his 5 TDs beginning late in the 3rd quarter w/ his team down and needing a boost. I don't consider that "average".

You're not ticked that he didn't do that kinda stuff more often last season, are you?

I'll give kudos for Eli for coming up in the clutch but had performed better earlier he would have gotten my vote. In terms of the bitterness of losing him it stings a little but my QBs did pretty well in the opening week going 21 for 26 224 yards with 4 TDs and 0 INT despite the heavy rains in Green Bay in fact had we not replaced Garrard for Redman late in the game David might have been up for the award this week. Yet together they count less against the cap ($2.3 vs $4) then Eli does not to mention I also got a half way decent DE for at least one season (and hopefully more pending how his fight with leukemia goes) in Kenechi Udeze plus a development WR (Marcus Smith) in the trade.

Yards without TDs are an empty stat, except for Eli, who had 5 TDs, and still had a decent passing yards. wallbash.gif Maybe he threw too many TDs for your liking.

The INT and Eli's completion percentage are what caused me not to vote for him.

Again, you have to look @ when he performed, not just the final stats.

Here's a comparison of Eli's stats:

[When Colorado was down 21-14 in the 3rd Qtr]

10 of 23 (43.4%), 142 yards, 2 TDs, INT

[The Game's Final 26:37 mins, When Eli led Colorado on a 28-7 run to win the game]

13 of 21 (61.9%), 113 yards, 3 TDs

He was quite accurate when the team needed him to be: when they were losing. Heck, he had completed 10 of 11 in one stretch before going 0-3 on one of their last possessions of the game. To me, the INT and the incompletions don't even begin to tell the story of what Manning did in this game.

So, it's Jokeman's favorite QB: Eli Manning!

Congrats.
