So, the preseason is now over. It certainly had its share of twists and turns, and should make for an interesting regular season, to say the least.
Surprise teams: Ottawa and Springfield finished w/ 2-0 marks. Very impressive! Both teams showed good balance, as the Isotopes had the league's 6th best offense and 8th best defense while Ottawa had the 5th best offense and the 2nd best defense in the preseason.
Speaking of good defenses...the team that had the top ranked defense this preseason? Undefeated New Orleans? Nope, they were 4th (4th on offense, too; looking good for 'Nawlins). Odds on fave Louisiana? Wrong again; they were 9th. Colorado, last year's top defensive dog? Seventh. The answer is none other than winless Seattle. Go figure.
The Erie civil war is over, and the Assassins came out on top of the Slayers, but not by much. See ya when it counts in Week 12 for the rematch. It should be a great one.
It appears that the teams I figured to contend for the title this year got back on track, as Louisiana, Philly, and Indianapolis all had impressive wins this week.
Okay, it's on to the regular season next week. All preseason injuries are wiped out and we start fresh. Good luck to one and all!
