Full Version: BOSE in ear headphones

I had a $100 gift-card to blow at Best Buy this past Christmas so I bought the BOSE in-ear headphones. They're totally awesome, not noise canceling, but definitely a great sound, far superior to any buds I've worn before.

Big problem though: The silicone tips fall off way way way too easily and get lost.

Solution: BOSE will replace lost tips as often as needed, for no charge.

So if anyone is like me and has been stewing because they have two sized buds in their ears (one of them way too small), fret no more. Just call BOSE customer service.

No highs, no lows, must be bose.

It's good that you like them, but you probably won't get many positive responses from people that know audio. Bose is very overpriced while providing average products. They are a marketing firm that dabbles in audio. I'm not posting this to rain on your parade, but since you are recommending their product I think people should be warned to do their research before purchasing Bose products.

Bose is the Monster Cables of the audio world.

Both work fine, but there are much better alternatives for the price.

Okay, that's fair. That's information I was not privy to. Admittedly, I'm NOT an audio-geek.

Could you recommend an in-ear headphone with similar quality? I'm not talking about home-theater systems, I'm talking in-ear buds. From what I've seen, these are the best available?

I believe these are the ones you got.

5.7 out of 10 rating from CNET, with a 6.5 user rating.

The top listing for all inear headphones from CNET is here:
http://reviews.cnet.com/best-headphones/43....html?tag=filed

They range in price from 29.99 to $350 with CNET ratings from 7.5 to 8.3; however I tend to trust the user ratings more (except for iPods, due to fanboys giving anything with an apple on it a 10), so you might want to read those.

Surprising, one of the highest rated sets, around $35 depending on where you shop, got an 8.0 rating and a 7.2 user rating.

I'm not a fan of earbuds, so I can't comment on those. sad.gif

Bingo!!!

Give the Sennheiser cx300s a try. They come with 3 different size adapters. Buds

I used to sell mid to high end gear like this until I hit the boss.

The one thing I do agree with the original poster on here is going with earbuds. I don't know where most of you work, or if you listen to music at work, but for me, I think my employees and co-workers would give me some strange looks if I was wearing those big headphones at work smile.gif

From what I found on Bestbuy.com, these Klipsch seem pretty nice. I'm not a huge fan of Klipsch speakers, but they have a good reputation and make high quality equipment.

I would imagine these would be nice too...if you have $500 to spend on earbuds!

Exactly. Working out in the gym would look rather odd with anything other than what you purchased

I paid a $hitload for the Sure earbuds and they suck. It's like there's no Bass in them and it sounds real high and "tinty". censored.gif I just ended up using my original Ipod buds.

If you guys want really good in ear headphones, get the Razer ones. They are cheap, and sound excellent.

These come up on woot.com all the time, just got a pair in the wootoff last week for $20 incl shipping.

Not sure if these are any good - but the brand is.
