Quite an accomplishment. Shame that injuries cost him a shot at getting to the record.

Congrats to Jr. on becoming the 5th member of the 600 club. He was one of my favorite ballplayers growing up. Guy has all the tools. Such a shame about his injuries, or right now we'd be talking about him (rightfully) chasing down Aaron.

Definitely the best player I've ever seen play in person (yes I've seen Bonds in his real baseball prime, not his comic-book steroid prime.) He was an absolute monster at the dish in 1996-97-98, all while playing the best centerfield of his generation.
Too bad about the injury troubles in Cincy. Never seemed to hinder that beautiful swing though...Ted Williams, Will Clark, and Griffey in a class by themselves with that smooth lefty stroke...

6th...whether you like or dislike Bonds he hit them...and why disqualify Bonds and not Sosa?

and to think he's missed almost 400 game alone with the Reds!!! We would be watching him break the HR record by now.

Have always been a big fan and the injury thing was tough to see him go through, but i think other people are right on... he would be the one chasing the record if not for his injuries that he seemed to always suffer. Griffey Jr is one of the last remaining good guys in the game

Way to go Junior! One of the best players I have ever seen play and one of baseballs good guys. Five tools and one of the sweetest swings ever! Way to keep bouncing back from injuries and bad luck. I feel robbed from not being able to watch Junior more in his prime, due to injury
