the other nite in the yankees/orioles debacle. latroy hawkins was behind the batter 3-1(i think) at the time he threw at the batter and was tossed, relief pitcher comes in and throws strike 2 then ball 4...what pitcher is saddled with the walk in that situation?

edit...ok, shoulda done this the first time around, checked the box score for tuesday nite, hawkins has one BB, ramierez has 0 BB....

Think it would have been different if Hawkins left with, say, a 2-1 count, and the batter still drew a walk? Whoever throws the most pitches, maybe?

I'm pretty sure whoever throws the first pitch gets the result of the batter. So, for example, if Hawkins leaves on an 0-1 and Ramirez walks the inherited batter, Hawkins gets a walk.
