They were overmatched completely...and the 98 Astros were a good hitting team with 2 future Hall of Famers, and several professional hitters, including Moises Alou, Jack Howell and Derek Bell.
Too bad the Cubs had to hire Dusty Baker and run Wood into the ground. Thanks Dusty.

The sliders he threw on 18 and, of course, 20, are two of the nastiest pitches I have ever seen. You know when Bagwell swings and misses by 8 inches that there is some serious movement there.
