...before throwing a pitch for the Tribe.

Can't say I didn't already think the guy was toast, but you sign a contract and a few months later decide to throw in the towel? That's a pretty cheap way to treat a team. Sucks for the Indians and their planning.

Translation-He played for the Red Sox so he is obviously a dick because their entire team, fan base, and city suck.

Yes. He has a degenerative condition known as isuckalotitis. (not to be confused with isuckalotoftits, a condition of unusual growth)

You Red Sox fans sure have a complex. What I really meant was that Athletics fans and White Sox fans are also jerks, in addition to Sox fans. Because saying he signed a contract and then hung his new team out to dry has everything to do with his previous teams and their fanbases.

I think that is why they hedged their bets with their other signings.

They hedged their bets because of health issues but I'm sure they didn't sign Foulke believing that he was going to ditch them before even reporting to ST.

Foulke was really hurting prior to spring training...and then started having elbow pain.

That's what Tribe GM Mark Shapiro is saying, anyway.

At least, Foulke didn't make a couple of appearances and then go on the DL, never to be heard from again, like Keith Hernandez did for the Tribe about 17 years ago. All Keith did was collect his paycheck.

Foulke left $5 million on the table by retiring. As I said, he must have really been hurting.
