it was an unsecure script that was getting pounded by spam. It was actually causing server overloads a few weeks back. I may decide to put it back, but disable some features (like having the ability to input a recipe directly).

You should be able to leave the cookbook up, and just remove the CGI/Perl scripts that are used to populate the database. That's what was bringing the server down. People need to cook for the holidays
