The Pine Tigers are done. 
Of course, IF it was the good guys facing the Tigers instead of those red-birded douchebags and their "we are sooo puuurfect" corn-fed minions, the games would be different. No illusions about that. But I cant help but thinking that the Mets would have wiped the floor with these paper Tigers even worse than the the Cardianals are.

I posted the historical fact in the other thread... This series could mirror the 1968 WS... The only difference was that the Tigers dug themselves out of a hole in Detroit and then went on to finish the last two off in St. Louie...

One good thing is... That a damn wild-card team didn't win the whole ball of wax!
I didn't know who to pull for during this whole thing... Kinda the Tigers to keep it going and entertaining... I always like to see a team get down to its last strike/out and then collaspe (must be the FauxSox hater in me ala 1986!).

There is no question in my mind it is. The Cardinals absolutely capitalized on the the long layoff and the Tigers' youth. No one with any baseball acumen would have predicted a 5 game series win for the Cards if you told them in advance Pujols was going to hit .200, with as many strikeouts as hits, and have only 2 RBIs. Quite the opposite.
It's a funny game.
