broken collarbone

Poor dude...been carrying OU on his back the whole season. Plus this is the first time his dad has gotten to see him play. Terrible.

He had the talent to make a multiple run at the Heisman....probably will never get it now.

The only thing keeping him out of the NFL this year was another injury.

He'll be back with OU next year.

Much of the speculation remains Peterson will be gone. Since this wasn't a joint injury, they don't think it's going to hurt his draft stock at all. Is a Heisman worth risking $15 million?

He'll probably be glad to go, as well. He doesn't need to be reminded for a third year in a row he picked the wrong horse coming out of school. doh.gif

Once the draft rolls around and they start looking for every negative in a player, he'll be labeled as injury prone

I think he'd rather prove that he isn't injury prone by playing and getting paid in the NFL. Most RB's, if they have any chance at all to leave early, will do so. They take 40 solid shots per game- there's just too many opportunities to get hurt.

There's a slight chance he makes it back in time to light it up in a bowl game, too. Two-and-a-half months for a broken collarbone to heal is fairly realistic. He'll be labelled as gritty and courageous if he comes back and runs for 150 in a bowl game.

While that all might be true, he does have to factor in the effect this will have on any draft spot that he gets.
