Received this email tonight:
"Hello everyone,
First of all, I want to welcome all of you that will be
making the trip to chicago for this weekend's game against
the bears as well as any members of your backers chapters
that will be coming for the trip as well. Please forward
this message to your membership so that they get the details
for the upcoming party and possible tailgate meeting place,
Second I want to apologize to all of you for not
responding to the many emails I received about our plans for
this weekend. The reasons for this are multiple, including
unresponsiveness from the bears, extremely busy schedules, and
the fact that bears tickets and parking lot spaces are very
hard to come by and EXTREMELY expensive (as many of you
already probably now know!)
That being said, here's what we have planned. We will
be hosting a party at a local bar where we will have free
domestic drafts from 6:30-8:30. However, we have
also worked out a deal that will get you all drafts (domestic
and import) and extend the deal for another hour if you pay 10
dollars. Also, all well drinks are only 2 bucks!! Just mention
the name Kevin at the door and you will be all set up (in
case you forget that name, we will tell the people at the door
to expect a bunch of people in town for a Bills party)
We chose to have the party early for those who want to make it
an early night to start tailgating bright and early. For those
that want to stay out later, there are a ton of bars in that
area that we can point you to. Anyways, the party is at:
McGee's Tavern
www.mcgeestavern.com
950 W Webster Ave
Chicago, IL 60614
(773) 549-8200
At the corner of Sheffield and Webster in the Lincoln Park
neighborhood of Chicago.
Also, if you know around how many from your group will be
coming, please let me or Bill (see below) know so that we can
plan accordingly!
One of our members also has gotten a section of parking lot
that he has invited everyone to come tailgate in. Now I am
not sure how big of a space it is, so we most likely not all
be able to fit, but it will be a good spot for us to meet,
harass Bears fans a little, and show some Bills pride before
the game. We will be sending another email with the details of
where exactly to meet.
If you have any questions regarding the weekend or chicago, I
ask that you contact our chapter's co-president/contact, Bill
Nichols:
Email: bill@vibes.com
Cell Phone: 716-821-2921
I will unfortnuately be out of town until the morning of the
game (drink one for me on Saturday night), so I will not be
directly available for questions, but you can feel free to
email me.
Well, thats about it. Can't wait to welcome you all in person!
Here's to hoping we can shock the NFL two weeks in a row. The
bears are looking pretty good, but they have a tendency of
choking on their own overblown hype, so we may be in for a
VERY GOOD sunday. And we all know that Jauron and Levy will
have somehing to prove returning to chicago, so as always...
GO BILLS!!
See you this weekend!
Don't forget to forward this to your chapter members, and
please let me or bill know around how many from your group
will be coming!
Thanks
Sujit Janardhan

Wow - I don't want to sound too ungrateful for the effort, but this has probably come a little too late. Seems as if everyone has already made their plans. I've sent about 6 messages since the schedule came out and still have no response.
How did you rate UD?
There are two Backers groups in Chicago. Delilah's is the other one.

I just posted for the masses - I'll be out with friends on Saturday, but I'm DEFINITELY meeting with you guys on Sunday. Hopefully coincidence will put us near them...otherwise, I'll be one of the first to say that they're crappy hosts.

I rated because I was a Buffalo Bills Backer president.
You need to create a chapter Diane.

We have a large chapter in DFW already - no need to re-invent the wheel. But it's still no excuse for them ignoring my e-mails. I identified myself as a member of the backers group and someone who gets involved in groups planning for away games. I'm just venting.

Hey Guys,
Myself and Sujit made several attempts to reach out to some of the Presidents a few months back b/c we had never hosted one of these before. We never got a real head count or idea of how many people to expect, and we didn't want to lose any money so we held out on dishing out a ton of money for renting out a bar.
Tailgating is tough here as well, b/c you need a pass for the Soldier lots. All other lots are a few minutes away and they don't allow blocking together or reserving spots...first come first serve.
With that said, here's the deal for the weekend:
McGee's Tavern on the corner of Sheffield and Webster.
Free beer from 630-830 Saturday Night
For $10 you upgrade to any premium or draft beer, as well as an extra hour, extending it to 930. There will also be $2 cocktails for those so inclined.
On Sunday, we'll be tailgating in the 31st Street Lot. It's a little further from the stadium but is 10x better than the regular lots, as this is where the real tailgating goes down for all Bears games. Should be intense.
Look for the Zubaz, fire up the grills, and pop open those cans of Blue's cause you're in for a good one!
Thanks guys, and Sujit posted my number wrong...here it is:
716-812-2921.
