The Twins have turned it around and anyone who saw this coming is pretty smart when it comes to baseball. When they were 25-33 on June 7th, I thought that they were just an underachieving team. The have turned it around completely and are hitting and pitching tremendously. They remind me of the White Sox of last year right now. Their pitching is solid, they have two guys that can dominate and Radke is is still a solid pitcher. If Baker and Silva can hold their own, this team can make it into the playoffs.

Perhaps. I'm more apt to pick the team that's been the model of consistency. I still think the Tigers, and as of right now, the Red Sox, will be the last two teams standing in the AL.

How ya figure? The Yanks are 1.5 games out in the east and leading the Wildcard. And they're doing it with huge injuries to the starting lineup.

They are playing decent baseball right nowand I just told my buddy the same thing. Wait until they get Sheff, Matsui, and Cano back. I still wonder if they are going to try and solidify their starting rotation and get a decent pitcher.

Did anybody else see Sal Fasano last night at catcher? Tell me he isn' the Steve Balboni reincarnate!

Lots of teams have had injuries. We'll see in September.

BTW, how 'bout those Phils, J-Bone?

Twins my ass, baby! They are 34-8 in their last 42, and they have made the HUGE jump from 10.5 games back of the Tigers all the way down to 8.5 games back. And yet nobody is talking about the Tigers being hot, because it's not a hot streak...They've been doing it all year!!! Twins have made a power move, though, and the White Sox have picked a bad time to lose 12 of 15.

Huge series this weekend as Det-Min square off. Tigers will have to face Liriano on Fri, and then a great matchup- Santana vs. Bonderman- on Sunday. I have to assume Detroit will take 2 outta 3, because that's what they do to everyone else. After that, the Twins will be in the rear-view mirror, like everyone else. GO TIGERS!!!

I'm with ya. A good buddy of mine is a Tigers fan and they've become an adopted team of mine just because it's been sad watching the guy suffer all these years. Esp since y'all aren't in-division with the Jays anymore. tongue.gif

I drove down to Pittsburgh about a month ago to see Detroit play the Pirates, and even at the Major League level, there was a noticable difference when Zumaya came in. He hit 102mph on the stadium radar. F'ing rediculous.

Pittsburgh's stadium is gorgeous, BTW. Only 3 hours if you have a free weekend and want to catch some MLB somewhere other then Skydome.

PNC is incredible. Anyone living in WNY who hasn't visited is really missing out.
