Until the guy steps up when it counts, then he will get the credit that he deserves. He has stepped up on a few occasions, however, his recent play in the field has caused fans to boo his performance and deservedly so.
I am a fan of A-Rod and I feel he does say all the right things to the media, but until he starts playing well, then he won't be able to get the Derek Jeter monkey off of his back. Here is hoping that he steps it up in August and September.

I don't need to state my feelings. He is wearing pinstripes, he's my enemy. He may be having a down year for his standards, but even I don't think he deserves what he is getting. Yeah, he needs to earn the paycheck but dude is seriously cracking under the pressure. With his contract, the only way he could ever be moved would be to trade someone with a similar contract.
I think it's all mental with him. He started feeling the pressure of having to carry the team (though it's now proven he doesn't really have to) and got himself all out of whack. If it's not the lack of hitting, it's the defense. One or the other usually suffers, but a few times this year *both* have suffered.
Once the booing started, it was all downhill. It's affecting him badly, even though there's no reason it should.

Now the Yankees have to be even more concerned about the Jays right on their tail.
At least A-Rod cannot be blamed for tonight's loss, altough I bet Mike Lupica would try to find a way to do so

They aren't going to trade A-rod. Check out the SI.com article where Cashman said Arod is off the table and also Arod himself would veto any trade with his no trade clause.

Yeah, right. If ARod could escape NY, he'd do it in a heartbeat. Not to just any team, but there are definitely better situations for him out there.
