This morning's paper had qouted pedro saying he never wanted to leave boston, he then threw a verbal shot at lucchino, so maybe just maybe a wild pitch from pedro ding's lucchino. Oh ya, the rocket talks have been swirling in town,c'mon back to where you started biggrin.gif

That might be his only shot at getting another ring. The Red Sox are smokin hot right now.

...and yet they still can't pull away from the Yankees, cuz they are playing against the same crappy NL east teams. I've never been a big AL vs. NL debater, but the NL is clearly the worse league by far.

True. It is total devastation this year. The NL should be embarrassed.

Forget All-Star games- the AL has won eight straight World Series games!!!

As much as I hate to admit it, I think the Mets represent the best chance for the NL this year. If they make a trade for the D-Train, I think they have the three pitchers that can carry them through the playoffs.

The Cards are right behind them but they have some questions with their pitching staff.

Assuming I'm adding correctly, AL is 127-75 vs. NL in interleague this year. That a winning pct of .629! Add to that, the AL is 8-0-1 in the last 9 All Star games, and has won eight straight World Series games!!! Yikes!!!!

The Mets could certainly use another pitcher, but I hate the idea of giving up Milledge. He's ready to step in right now for Cliff Floyd. Hopefully they can swing another deal that doesn't involve a key prospect.

That would be a trade that would go down in infamy, AFAIC. It would make the Kazmir trade look like a sweetheart deal for NY. This Mets squad is good enough to make it to the Series as is, healthy. Trading the future away for another arm when you can already put up the runs to make up for any staff shortcomings is completely ludicrous, IMO.

I heard it mentioned that Milledge is of the Jose Reyes/David Wright mold- i.e. a player you can plug into the lineup everyday build your franchise around for a decade. I didn't know he was such a highly rated prospect. Hopefully the Mets will be weary of impluse spending while trying to pick up an extra arm, as we all know the history there....

(sshhhh, don't say it, don't say it...KAZMIR!!!)

I'm still shaking my head on that one. I don't even want to think of what good shape they'd be in with SK in the rotation. mad.gif
