In recent years, he has been less pro-Red Sox. He has blasted guys like Grady Little, Terry Francona, and Pedro for their actions/performances on the field, so I wouldn't throw him into "Red Sox Nation".
Agree with him or not, he's always seemed like one of the nicer guys in the business and generally knows a lot about baseball. My prayers are with him.
