Carlos Beltran...the guy who was labeled as already being a bust after 1 year into his contract with the Mets...

.276 14 HR 37 RBI 7 SB so far...he is playing like the player they expected now..I attribute this to the emergence of David Wright and Delgado providing more protection and also this has taken the spotlight off of Beltran and allowed Carlos to just play his game and he is producing.

No doubt, Wright's coming out and the acquisition of Delgado make things a lot easier on Beltran.

Delgado has a way of doing that. Vernon Wells was hurting without him until Glaus came into the picture. I would not underestimate the value of Delgado to the Mets.

Beltran is a GOD!!!!!! Well, at least he is a very good player. If he could only hit for average - but as a MEts fan, I will settle for 30-40 SB's, 20-30 HR's, and 100+RBI.
KD in CT
It's good to see Beltran playing well. I think a lot of guys need a year's adjustment to play well in New York.

Plus, people need to have reasonable expectations on his numbers. Shea is not a hitter's park. Nobody hits 40 HRs playing for the Mets.

Beltran is one of the best players in baseball. In '05 he was playing hurt all year. The new lineup also helps.
cantankerous
Adriane Beltre and Richie Sexson deserve all the heat they can get for how bad they suck this year...they aren't even hitting their weight.
