Is there a glitch in there where we still cant upload images from our computer or what??? Because I see others can change theirs. If someone can help, please pm me. Thanks.
with all the issues I have been dealing with - avatars have been the last thing on my list.
However, most avatar issues have been resolved. Your current avatar is a corrupted file, so you will need to change it.

I understand that, but at first I didnt know if it was my computer or the site. What is a corrupted file??? I just saved the pic to my computer and uploaded it. Is there anyway to fix it so I dont lose it now? Thanks.

the file is gibberish, you will need to find it again or choose another.

i've been having the same problem. I've tried the tiniest of jpgs. no dice.
it's not my computer either. I've tried at work and on other computers. Like Bills4life said, how can others change theirs and we can't change ours? it's maddening.

To all having problem with avatar's, clear out your browser's cache, and try to upload it again. I know on my message boards, all which use Invision, there have been some madding cache issues. Moderators not being able to log in, people not being able to see the boards, etc. When they clear out the cache, all is good.
I do believe that all the caching problems are fixed in 2.0 Final. This is PF3. I have two of my boards running 2.0 Final, and all these nutty minor issues have been fixed. My main board is still on PF4, and it's still having these issues. I'll be upgrading it in the next couple of days, and I'll give an update.

I'm having the same problem. Getting an error every time I attempt to change, even with small avatars. Makes no sense.

unfortunately, "I have a problem" is precious little information to go on.
I have no problems updating my avatar and I see nothing about your particular situation that's different than mine. Maybe more info would help.

3k jpeg. less than 80x80 pix. Click on browse to update avatar. Comes back Upload failed. Tried several old avatars I've used in the past.. same result. Both home and at work. Not the settings on my PC. Something with Invision perhaps ? Does it need to be in a certain directory for it to be recognized ? Never had any problems in the past.

try it now...
ByTor2112 - your avatar you have been trying to upload (Hillary) is 91 kb.... That is WAAAAY too big.
BTW, I'm guessing the others were gifs. jpgs worked for me, but gifs didn't. now the gifs work for me too.

Interesting. My "sweep" broom is frozen, and a black background added. Uploaded the same file as my personal photo so you can take a look at how it's *supposed* to look. I've used the same .gif before with no issues, and I'm reading it at 9.3 kb (well under the 15kb limit).
Thoughts?

my guess is that it was too big pixl wise and it got resized, but I doubt it is smart enough to resize every frame in the gif file, so it chose one frame.

Didn't think about that. Good guess. Went back and checked the properties, and the original is 128x128. Trying to down-size it with the programs I have didn't give me the animation back, but at least I got rid of the black background. Guess that'll have to do.
